Unlike traditional conferences or galas, golf tournaments present an entirely different design challenge. Much of the event takes place outdoors, where temporary structures, open landscapes, and expansive hospitality areas can often feel functional rather than elevated.

Temporary Tropics was brought in to transform those temporary event spaces into polished hospitality environments using thoughtfully placed tropical foliage throughout the tournament grounds.

Our goal wasn't simply to decorate the event.

It was to make every guest experience feel intentional.

Defining a Stage Without Building One

One of the primary event moments was the tournament welcome and speaker presentation.

Rather than constructing a traditional stage, the organizers created a speaking area directly on the golf course.

Our botanical installations became the architectural elements that defined the space.

Tall tropical palms framed the podium while layered greenery created a natural backdrop that immediately drew guests' attention toward the speakers.

Instead of relying on heavy scenic pieces, live foliage established visual boundaries while preserving the openness and beauty of the golf course.

The result felt organic, elegant, and unmistakably South Florida.

Softening Temporary Event Infrastructure

Outdoor tournaments rely heavily on tents to provide shade for guests, sponsors, dining, and hospitality experiences.

While highly functional, large tent structures often introduce visible aluminum poles and framework that interrupt the visual flow of an otherwise beautiful venue.

Throughout the luncheon pavilion, we strategically positioned tropical palms alongside the tent supports to soften the hard architectural lines and integrate the temporary structures into the surrounding landscape.

Rather than allowing guests to notice the mechanics of the build, the greenery redirected their attention toward the experience itself.

It's a subtle design decision, but one that dramatically elevates the overall atmosphere.

Enhancing the Arrival Experience

The first impression began well before guests reached the golf course.

Temporary Tropics framed the tournament entrance with lush tropical palms, creating a welcoming gateway beneath the Orange Bowl Golf Classic signage.

This botanical entrance established a strong sense of arrival while immediately reinforcing the tournament's South Florida identity.

Guests transitioned naturally from the parking and registration areas into an environment that felt polished, organized, and event-ready from the very first step.

Botanical Design That Complements the Landscape

Designing for a golf course requires restraint.

The surrounding scenery is already beautiful.

Our role was never to compete with it.

Instead, we selected tropical foliage that complemented the mature palms, expansive fairways, and natural Florida landscape already surrounding Miami Lakes Golf Club.

Clean white planters kept the presentation modern while allowing the vibrant green foliage to remain the focal point.

Every installation enhanced the venue without distracting from it.

The result was an elevated event that still felt authentic to its surroundings.

Logistics That Begin Before Sunrise

Golf tournaments operate on incredibly tight production schedules.

Registration opens early.

Sponsors arrive before sunrise.

Players begin checking in shortly afterward.

Every botanical installation had to be positioned before guests reached the property while coordinating alongside multiple production teams preparing signage, registration, food service, and tournament operations.

Our crew executed the installation efficiently, ensuring every hospitality area, speaker location, and luncheon space was guest-ready well before the first golfers arrived.

As with every Temporary Tropics project, the goal was seamless execution.
