CASE STUDY: Creating Organic “Planter-Less” Greenery Installations for Event Stages

For this installation, we partnered with Apollo Global Management to design a series of organic greenery vignettes for their conference at the stunning Faena Forum in Miami Beach.
The creative vision called for a wildlife-inspired aesthetic — greenery that appeared to grow naturally across the stage environment without visible planters.
To achieve this effect, our team designed four curated plant vignettes, each arranged to feel like a natural botanical landscape rather than a traditional plant display.
The result was a stage environment that felt both organic and refined — perfectly aligned with the venue’s dramatic architectural setting.
Designing a Planter-Less Botanical Landscape
Creating planter-less installations requires a careful balance between natural composition and structural stability.
Plants must be arranged in ways that appear effortless while remaining secure and visually balanced on stage.
For this installation, we selected a lush combination of tropical foliage including:
Bird of Paradise plant rentals
Tropical palm varieties
Layered fern installations
The Bird of Paradise plants provided height and sculptural presence, while the palms introduced movement and volume. Ferns added a soft, cascading texture that helped complete the jungle-inspired composition.
This layered approach is commonly used in luxury event foliage design and tropical themed event décor, where multiple plant species create a rich botanical environment.
Extending the Greenery Throughout the Venue
Beyond the stage, the installation expanded into other areas of the venue to create a cohesive botanical atmosphere.
Live foliage was installed:
Around the amphitheater seating areas
Throughout the corridors leading to conference rooms
Along transitional spaces within the venue
This approach allowed the greenery to guide guests through the environment while reinforcing the event’s tropical design theme.
