CASE STUDY: Defining Event Spaces with Live Foliage at the Kravis Center

For this installation, we partnered with Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County to design greenery installations for an event hosted at the renowned Raymond F. Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach.

The venue’s grand foyer and ballroom spaces required a design approach that could help define different areas of the event — from cocktail hour gathering spaces to the entrance leading into the ballroom.

Our goal was to create a natural flow between environments while maintaining the elegance expected in a prestigious performing arts venue.

Framing the Stage with Tropical Palms

To complement the scale of the venue, we began by installing palm tree rentals to flank the stage.

Palm trees are frequently used in conference plant décor and gala greenery installations because they provide height, structure, and visual presence without overwhelming the presentation area.

This stage framing created a refined focal point for the program while maintaining clear sightlines for the audience.

Creating Botanical Pathways in the Foyer

Beyond the stage, the venue’s foyer offered an opportunity to shape the guest experience more dynamically.

Using a curated selection of tropical plant rentals, we arranged palms and potted foliage throughout the foyer to create a series of natural partitions between spaces.

These greenery installations helped divide the cocktail reception area from the entry pathway into the ballroom while preserving an open, welcoming atmosphere.

Rather than building rigid barriers, the foliage created a softer, more organic separation between environments.

A Secret Garden Effect

One of the most memorable elements of the design was the creation of a botanical foliage wall using rows of potted greenery.

By intentionally leaving openings within the foliage, the installation created a sense of discovery — almost like stepping through a hidden garden pathway within the venue.

Guests naturally moved through these openings as they transitioned between areas of the event, creating a subtle yet immersive experience.

This technique is often used in luxury event foliage design and botanical event décor, where plants serve as architectural elements within the event environment.
