For the National Association of Neonatal Nurses’ NANN 42nd Annual Conference at the Palm Beach County Convention Center, the brand identity was alive with vibrant color, tropical leaf forms, and the warmth of its West Palm Beach setting. The design brief was clear: bring that sense of place into the guest experience, from arrival through the general session.

A Registration Area Should Feel Like a Welcome

Registration is often treated as purely functional. It is where badges are collected, questions are answered, and lines form. But it is also the first branded environment every attendee enters.

We flanked the registration desks with potted tropical palms in crisp white planters, immediately shifting the area from transactional to welcoming. The white planters kept the composition fresh and clean against the conference’s vivid color palette, while the living palms made the space feel unmistakably connected to South Florida.

It was a simple gesture with real impact: a polished, tropical welcome that introduced the conference before a single name badge was handed over.

Framing the Message, Not Competing With It

The main stage carried the conference’s strongest visual moment: a centered NANN mark surrounded by lush tropical graphics and saturated color. The foliage needed to support that identity without crowding it.

We created two full tropical foliage clusters, one at each end of the stage, using layered palms and varied foliage to give the platform depth and a grounded, garden-like presence. Two palms then flanked the centered branded element, framing the logo with just enough height and movement to make it feel intentional from the farthest seat in the room.

The logo remained the focal point. The live foliage gave it an environment.

That distinction matters in stage plant rentals. The right greenery does not compete with the content on screen or the person at the podium. It gives both a setting that feels dimensional, finished, and unmistakably tied to the event’s design language.
