What Happens Before Your Plants Ever Arrive Matters
When clients think about live foliage rentals, they usually picture the finished installation.
The grand entrance.
The perfectly framed stage.
The polished registration desk.
What they rarely see is everything that happens before the truck doors open.
At Temporary Tropics, we believe the behind-the-scenes process is just as important as the final reveal. Every plant, planter, cart, and transport method reflects the same level of professionalism our clients expect on the show floor.
The difference between an average event company and an exceptional one is often found long before installation begins.
A Truck Is a Reflection of a Company's Standards
The photographs below tell an important story.
The first two truck photographs are from one of our competitors.
The remaining photographs show how Temporary Tropics prepares and transports live foliage for events.
The difference isn't about appearances.
It's about protecting the client's investment.
When trucks are loaded without a system, plants become compressed, foliage is broken, soil spills throughout the vehicle, and decorative planters become scratched, chipped, and dirty before they ever reach the venue.
By the time installation begins, crews are already working to fix problems that could have been avoided.
That isn't how we operate.
Every Plant Has Its Place
Our loading process follows a consistent system developed through years of servicing conferences, conventions, luxury hotels, sporting events, and corporate installations.
Large plant material is positioned toward the rear of the truck where it can be unloaded first and secured with heavy-duty cargo straps to prevent shifting during transport.
This accomplishes two important objectives:
Protects delicate foliage from being crushed.
Prevents unnecessary movement while driving.
Healthy plants should arrive looking exactly as they did when they left our nursery.
That only happens when transportation is treated as part of the installation—not an afterthought.
Clean Planters Begin Before Departure
One of the details clients consistently notice is the condition of our containers.
Every planter is cleaned before it is loaded onto the truck.
Once inside the vehicle, planters are stacked and secured carefully to prevent rubbing, scratching, or impact damage during transport.
It may seem like a small detail.
But spotless containers immediately communicate professionalism before guests ever notice the plants themselves.
Presentation begins the moment installation starts.
Clean Trucks Create Cleaner Installations
Before plants enter any venue, our team removes loose soil, excess mulch, and debris from nursery liners.
This simple step prevents unnecessary dirt from entering ballrooms, convention centers, hotels, and meeting spaces.
Instead of cleaning up avoidable messes after installation, our crews focus on creating beautiful environments.
Respecting our clients' venues is just as important as respecting their timelines.
Organization Creates Speed
An organized truck isn't simply easier to look at.
It's dramatically more efficient.
Equipment carts are staged together.
Moving blankets are secured.
Transport dollies remain accessible.
Planters are grouped by installation area.
Plants are loaded according to unloading sequence.
This means our crews spend less time searching for equipment and more time installing your event.
When deadlines are tight—and they usually are—every minute matters.
Professional Logistics Protect Your Investment
Every event has a schedule.
Every venue has loading restrictions.
Every installation has unexpected challenges.
Our behind-the-scenes organization allows us to respond quickly because every piece of equipment has a designated place.
That preparation translates directly into:
Faster load-ins
Faster strikes
Reduced risk of damaged plants
Cleaner installations
Better protection for client property
More efficient crews
Greater peace of mind
These aren't glamorous details.
They're operational disciplines that make extraordinary events possible.
Excellence Happens Long Before Guests Arrive
Anyone can rent plants.
Not everyone manages them with the same level of care.
At Temporary Tropics, we believe excellence isn't something that happens only when guests walk through the doors.
It's reflected in every phase of the project—from preparing inventory, cleaning planters, organizing transport, protecting live foliage, and executing installations with precision.
Our clients trust us because they know the experience they receive behind the scenes is every bit as polished as what their attendees ultimately see.
Doing something ordinary extraordinarily has always been our standard.
And sometimes, that standard begins with simply opening the back of the truck.
