A Signature Convention Venue in Hollywood, Florida
For this installation, our team worked at the beautiful The Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood.
The property is well known throughout the corporate events industry for its impressive conference and convention facilities, making it one of the premier venues for large-scale gatherings in Broward County.
Its expansive ballrooms and multi-level convention spaces provide stunning architecture — but they also require strategic décor elements to balance the scale of the environment.
Enhancing Two Floors of Convention Space
Our client asked us to transform two full convention levels of the venue using live foliage rentals throughout both ballrooms and foyer spaces.
Rather than overcrowding the environment with greenery, we focused on a carefully balanced approach using perimeter plant décor and flanking greenery installations.
The botanical design included:
90 total tropical plant rentals
10–15 different plant species
Strategic installations across two convention floors
This plant selection allowed us to create a variety of arrangements throughout the venue — including single plant moments, paired installations, and larger clusters of three or four plants.
These groupings helped establish visual rhythm throughout the space while maintaining an open and breathable layout.
Balancing Lushness with Architectural Scale
In large convention venues, greenery must enhance the space without overwhelming it.
By combining multiple plant species and grouping them strategically, we were able to create an environment that felt lush while still allowing the architecture of the venue to shine.
This design technique is commonly used in conference plant rentals and corporate event greenery installations, particularly in convention centers where large spaces benefit from layered botanical accents.
Designing with Brand Identity in Mind
An important part of this installation was aligning the greenery design with the client’s brand identity.
The event’s branding centered around yellow and black, so we incorporated those elements directly into the botanical design.
The plants were installed in sleek black planters, creating a bold contrast against the greenery. We also selected plant varieties that featured yellow-toned stems and foliage, subtly reinforcing the brand palette throughout the venue.
This organic interpretation of brand colors is a design technique we often use in custom event plant design, allowing botanical installations to support the visual identity of the event.
